2018 Ram 1500 Power & Handling

The quality of the engine options in the Ram 1500 is truly what makes these engines shine. The first is a 3.6-liter V6, which has the capability to produce 269 lb-ft of torque and 305 horsepower. The fuel economy, depending on whether you choose 2WD or 4WD, is around 17/25 mpg or 16/13 mpg. The second engine is a turbo diesel 3.0-liter V6, creating up to 240 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. While also choosing between 2WD and 4WD, you can get around 20/27 mpg or 19/27 mpg. Both of these engines come with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The third and final option is a HEMI 5.7-liter V6, creating around 410 lb-ft of torque and 395 horsepower. You can choose between an 8-speed or a 6-speed automatic transmission, along with 2WD and 4WD.

2018 Ford F-150 Power & Handling

The Ford F-150 comes with five engine options, however, there are no diesel engine options. The first engine is a 3.3-liter V6, producing 290 horsepower. The second is a twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter V6, creating 325 horsepower. The third option is a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6, generating 375 horsepower. The fourth, and second most powerful, is a 5.0-liter V8, producing 395 horsepower. The last option, which comes with the Raptor, is a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6, which produces 450 horsepower. Most of these come with the option between 2WD and 4WD. The standard transmission for the lower engines is a six-speed automatic transmission, while the rest use a 10-speed automatic transmission.

If you had any hesitations about the Ram 1500, then any worry about this pickup truck should fade with the knowledge that you can choose any of these eleven offered trim levels. That is eleven different and unique options that you have the power to choose between. You can pick something like the Big Horn, which comes with upgraded cloth seating, dual-zone automatic climate control, 110-volt power outlet, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, an 8.4-inch touchscreen, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat. You could also choose the Laramie, which comes with wood trim, a ten-speaker audio system, auto-dimming mirrors, and ventilated and heated leather front seats that come with driver-seat memory settings. The Rebel, which is an off-roading aficionado, comes with all-terrain tires, LED fog lights, 17-inch wheels, Bilstein shock absorbers, black fender flares, keyless entry, and tow hooks.

2018 Ford F-150 Features & Design

The Ford F-150 only comes with six main trim levels. The base trim called the F-150 XL, comes with a cloth-upholstered 40/20/40-split front bench, air-conditioning, trailer sway control, manual mirrors and windows, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, a 4-speaker radio with an auxiliary jack, a driver information display, and automatic headlights. Another trim, the XLT, comes with driver and passenger seat lumbar adjustments, chrome bumpers and exterior trim, storage bins and pockets, alloy wheels, rear privacy glass, a keypad entry system, and carpeting. One of the higher trim options, the Platinum, comes with wood and aluminum interior trim, power-deployable running boards, and 20-inch wheels, among other features that come with this premium option.

Conclusions

While both of these vehicles have put up a good fight, there is one pickup truck that has continued to stand out.
