What are the three engine options?
Three engines are available for the 2018 lineup. These engines are the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, the 3-liter turbocharged EcoDiesel V6, and the 5.7-liter Hemi V8. The Laramie Longhorn and the Limited are available with the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 reaching 410 lb-ft of torque and 395 horsepower. The standard engine is the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 that offers 269 lb-ft of torque and 305 horsepower. The EPA rated this engine with 25 mpg. If diesel power is your thing, go with the 3-liter turbodiesel V6 and its 240 horsepower with 420 lb-ft of torque and its EPA rating of 29 mpg. All engines come with the option of an 8-speed automatic or a 6-speed automatic and the choice of two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive.
What are the RAM 1500 safety features?
The RAM 1500 promotes visibility with the addition of a longer rear window and a standard rearview camera. The backup camera can also be used to help with hitch lineup. Each trim has its own features, so some trims may come standard with LED foglights, automatic high beams, a locking tailgate, or automatic windshield wipers. Each of these features may also be available as solo add-ons.
What choices are there to customize the 2018 RAM 1500?
The eleven trims to choose from for the 2018 RAM 1500 are Tradesman, Express, Big Horn (Lone Star), Sport, Night, Harvest, Lone Star Silver, Laramie, Rebel, Laramie Longhorn, and Limited. Each trim comes with its own list of features. Instead of simply adding upon each other each level going from basic to luxury, these trims have been designed with a purpose to suit certain needs as well. For example the Rebel is built specifically for those that love off-roading and are looking for a truck with tow hooks, LED foglights, all-terrain tires, and black fender flares, while the Night trim was built to show off a street-truck flair, with its bucket seats, projector headlights, and all black design from the rooftop to the wheels. Once you’ve found the trim that best suits your wants and needs further customization can be made through add-ons, cab and bed options, and even in the choice of engine.
