What can a MultiAir Tigershark engine do?
The 2018 Compass comes with one engine option, the 2.4-liter MultiAir Tigershark inline-4 with an EPA rating of 32 miles per gallon. This engine offers 180 horsepower with 175 lb-ft of torque. The MultiAir Tigershark is paired with a six-speed manual and offers an exclusive nine-speed automatic transmission with the four-wheel drive option and allows for towing up to 2,000 pounds. Although if you prefer manual transmissions, a six-speed manual is available for all engines. With the additional large rugged tires, the Compass is built for extra stability both on and off the road. The lifted ride height also allows for 19 inches of water fording.
What models are available for the 2018 Compass?
In 2018, the Compass has more space than ever, with 38.3 inches of legroom, and cargo space of 27 cubic feet with the capability of reaching 60 cubic feet with fold-down seating. Standard with all models is an extra storage armrest bin, door pockets, and a glovebox for optimum organization. The multiple trims available include the Sport, Latitude, Limited, and the Trailhawk. All but the Trailhawk, which only offers four-wheel drive, are available in front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. The Sport is the base trim with the basics of air-conditioning, Bluetooth, a USB port, and a six-speaker sound system. The Latitude adds keyless ignition and entry, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and more choices for package add-ons. The Limited offers the most equipment with upgraded exterior trim, upgraded driver information display, automatic dual-zone climate control, and heated front seats. Lastly, the Trailhawk differs from the other trims, as it offers a unique twist to the Compass with all-wheel drive and multiple changes to the mechanics to make off-roading easier and more enjoyable.
What safety features are available?
There are over 70 features available for safety and security on the 2018 Compass. Standard with most models is Selec-Terrain which provides various modes for anything you might face with your 4×4, like snow, sand, mud, or even rock. Rock mode is only available on the Trailhawk model. Additional options are available such as a Cold Weather Package, a navigation system, or even an Advanced Safety and Lighting package with lane departure warning and intervention, forward collision warning and mitigation, and xenon headlights.
